Welcome trip to Lavassaare

Lavassaare restoration area is a former peat extraction area where restoration work was mostly completed in 2025. We will enter the site along the old railway tracks, get an overview of the constructed restoration structures, and see part of the monitoring network. On our way back, we will visit a developing tufa-forming spring fen and see the results of an older fertilization experiment.

• Warm soup and cake will be offered during the trip.
• You will need rubber boots
• During this trip, participants are kindly asked to wear a high‑visibility safety vest. If you have one, please bring it along. We’ll also have some spare vests available.
