Co-creating D3.4 and D3.5: from governance lessons to practical guidance and policy advocacy messages (WP3)
This 2-hour WP3 (Aligning governance) session will support the development of D3.4 (Best-practice Handbook) and D3.5 (Advocacy policy brief & video) through a structured discussion with representatives from Action Sites, Knowledge Sites and across WaterLANDS Work Packages. The session will start from the common evidence base already gathered in WP3, and will use two differentiated discussion rounds in smaller groups:
(i) D3.4 Best-practice Handbook of wetlands and peatlands restoration governance
The handbook aims to provide experience-based recommendations for organisers of restoration processes on how to make use of existing policies, shape actor networks, gather resources and exchange knowledge towards long-lasting and impactful restoration and project legacy.
(ii) D3.5 Advocacy policy brief & video will set out WaterLANDS’ policy recommendations to the European Commission and Member States for enabling larger-scale restoration of wetlands and peatlands, with a focus on implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation and National Restoration Plans.
The session is designed to keep the links between both deliverables clear, while ensuring that each gets the specific type of input it needs for completion.
